Food Distribution Program
The Food Distribution Program is a federal program that provides USDA nutritious foods to help maintain a nutritionally balanced diet to American Indian and non-Indian households residing on a reservation who are low-income.
Our service area includes, the C.R.I.T. Reservation, which includes the counties of La Paz, AZ, Riverside, and San Bernardino, CA

Anyone both Native American and Non-Native living within this service area
can apply.
We also serve clients extending a 25-mile radius off the reservation but MUST be Native American or a member of the household must be a member of a Federally Recognized tribe with proper identification. Household members are not permitted to participate simultaneously in the supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP/Food Stamps) and the Food Distribution Program in the same month.

Household of 2: $ 1,908
Household of 3: $ 2,356
Household of 4: $ 2,817
Household of 5: $ 3,303
Household of 6: $ 3,788.
Household of 7: $ 4,236
Household of 8: $ 4,658
For each additional person add $449.00
Dependent Care / Child Support
Excess Medical Expenses of $35.00 or more per month for Elderly and Disabled.
Required Information, if applicable: Proper Identification, Tribal ID/CIB, Social Security Cards/Number for EACH household member. Proof of Earned / Unaearned & Zero Income for ALL household members 18 & over Standard Shelter/Utility Expense
Applications for CRIT Food Distribution Program are available at our office. Contact us to request an application to be mailed, faxed or emailed. Households may file an application on the same day they contact the Food Distribution Program. All applications received by the program will be processed within seven days (excluding weekends & holidays) of the date received.
Participants may select from more than 70 products
Meats: Frozen ground beef, beef roast, chicken, bison, pork chops, canned beef poultry, and fish
Vegetables: Canned (low sodium), frozen & fresh
Fruits: Canned (low sugar), fresh, dried, frozen, and juices
Soups: Cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, vegetable, and tomato
Grains: Pasta, dry cereals, hot cereal, reduced sodium crackers, rice, all purpose flour, whole wheat flour, cornmeal, low-fat bakery mix
Cheese (sliced/loaf), fresh eggs, powered eggs
Milks: Ultra high temperature (UHT), fluid lower milk, nonfat dry milk, and skim evaporated milk
Beans: Low sodium refried beans, dried beans, canned beans, and black beans
Vegetable oil, light buttery spread, butter, and olive oil
Peanuts, peanut butter, and fruit/nut mix
This food is supplemental and is not meant to be the households’ sole source of food.
Program Requirements
We serve anyone Native American & Non-Native American living on the CRIT Reservation which includes the county of La Paz, San Bernardino, Earp, and Riverside. We also serve 25 mile radius off the reservation but at least one household member must be a tribal member of any federally recognized tribe with proper identification.
Applicants cannot participate in SNAP/Food Stamps/Cal-Fresh & food distribution within the same month. It is our policy to verify all participants prior to approval.
Documents Required
Identification: Valid Driver’s License, Social Security Card, Picture State ID, Resident Alien Cards (if applicable), Tribal ID or CIB (if applicable).
Zero Income: Fill out zero income form available from certifier.
Social Security Income: SSA, SSI, SSD, VA, Retirement, proof of monthly deposit either yearly award letter or current/last month’s bank statement of deposit.
Wages: Whole complete month of check stubs all members 18 and over. Bi-weekly 2 check stubs/weekly – 4 check stubs.
Unemployment/Workman’s Comp: Letter of weekly deposit statement or 4 whole month’s checks.
College Students: Any college students receiving school grants/loans FAFSA, PELL, etc. Award letter for amount for the certain period and statement of school deductions (tuition, books, classes, etc.).
Self Employment: Tax records for the current or previous year.
Utility Bills (Proof of Residence): Verify you live in our service area and we can use one bill for standard utility deduction or if utilities are more than our standard we would need all bills for the month (electric, water, trash, sewer, rent, lease agreement, etc.).
Child Care/Child Support: If paying for child care we can use this also as a deduction. Must have court order of required child support monthly payments.
Medical Expense (Elderly or if applicable): Deductible expenses exceeding $35 a month. Dental, Vision, Hearing, Prescriptions, out patient treatment, medical premiums, etc.
