Mo Chem Ho Na Senior Citizens Program

The Senior Citizens Program operates under the direction of the Colorado River Indian Tribes Department of Health and Social Services (CRIT DHSS). The MoChemHoNa Senior Program was established to provide services to eligible individuals as mandated under Title VI.

The MoChemHoNa Senior Center, located 12 miles north of Poston, AZ, sits in a central area of the reservation, making it accessible to all four tribes within the Colorado River Indian Reservation.

This program is designed to enrich the lives of elders by offering nutritious meals, social activities, and assistance with accessing and coordinating supportive services.

Support services include, but are not limited to: homemaker services, shopping assistance, transportation, and referrals to tribal and community agencies that promote the well-being of participants.

Eligibility Criteria

Person(s) 55 years or older are eligible.

Individuals are required to provide a doctors referral stating reasons and duration of services. Under special circumstances persons under the age of 55, with a physical or mental impairment may receive services with a doctor’s referral stating reasons and duration.

Provided Services

Congregate Meals: USDA Approved Meals served from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Monday through Friday for person(s) 55 years or older

Transportation: Scheduled transportation for program participants provided locally for congregate meals, shopping, assistance, paying utility bills, field trips, and delivery to place of residence.

Home Delivered Meals: USDA approved meals delivered to qualified clients daily, residing on the Colorado River Indian Reservation who are home bound for medical reasons and/or physical disabilities.

Socialization & Recreation: Age-appropriate activities such as but not limited to; field trips (local/out of town), arts and crafts, health/well-being promotion, BINGO, cake walks, and holiday parties.

Homemaker Services: General housekeeping provided for persons who meet specific eligibility criteria.
